Using balls, yoga blocks, and self-massage techniques, this two hour workshop gives you the tools and the time to explore your entire body, discover new ways to access hard to reach tightness, ease tension, stimulate circulation, soften scar tissue, release trigger points and work into your connective tissue. This practice is simple, effective and open to everyone - no yoga experience or flexibility required! From committed yogis to personal trainers, runners, surfers, exercise enthusiasts and office workers, this workshop will be beneficial to EVERY body and anybody who experiences deep tension and an even deeper desire to release it.
Growing up on the beaches of the Gold Coast, Clare discovered yoga when she was at university study Fine Art. At 23 she completed her first yoga teacher training in Ubud with Radiantly Alive, and went on to assist and mentor in Bali for 5 years on their many Teacher Trainings. Here she was fortunate to study with Emil Wendel, Simon Borg-Olivier, Edward Clark, Alanna Kaivalya and Dena Kingsberg. Between her Bali residencies Clare has been a senior teacher at Essence of Living on the Gold Coast, where she has worked with her beloved sister Michelle Merrifield for more than a decade, teaching over 15 public and private yoga classes a week. Clare has been fortunate to further her studies in India, traveling to both Mysore and Rishikesh to experience the richness of Indian philosophy and explore the origins of her teacher's teachers. Clare has also completed Lance Schuler's Teacher Training in Byron Bay and is deeply inspired by the experience and abundance of teachers and students who call Byron Bay Home. Clare’s classes are influenced by her playful creative nature and are the perfect blend of dynamic movement and soul infused stillness. Clare is now mama to beautiful baby Jala and transitioning gently back into teaching, and we're SO excited to have her back at Creature!
