Anatomy and Prac Teaching Skills | 50 hour YTT with Bess, Tahl & Dana Diament

  • Creature Yoga Town Studio 2/142 Bangalow Road Byron Bay, NSW, 2481 Australia (map)

This is a 50 hour training over 5 days with Bess, Tahl and guest faculty Dana Diament. This training module will include classes of asana, pranayama, meditation and mantra with Bess and Tahl, applied anatomy lectures with Dana, and discussion/workshop sessions with Bess and Tahl to process the material. We will look at teaching skills in terms of asana (including cueing, alignment and hands-on assists), pranayama, meditation and mantra. Each student will have the chance to teach and to receive feedback on their teaching from Bess, Tahl or Dana.

Anatomy component

This module will focus on applying the knowledge of anatomy to teaching yoga asana. We will look at how to effectively cue alignment, see what’s happening in different body types, and understand anatomical limitations of various poses. This module will help you to teach more purposeful and safe group classes as well as how to give more accurate individual attention to your students within a group class setting. The information presented will also be a preparation for our upcoming sequencing module. A basic level of anatomy is required and pre-course homework will be assigned to help you review the basics. Please note that we will not be going into the level of detail required for working privately or therapeutically with students.
